How do I install Kodi 17 to Fire Stick TV

5 posts in this topic

I actually have Kodi 16 now on my Fire Stick TV. Is there a way to upgrade to Kodi 17 Or do I have to start from scratch?

Is there a video or written steps on how to install Kodi 17 to Fire Stick TV?

Yes, you can update it, without starting from scratch. I wouldn't update it yet, a lot of people are still having issues with version 17.0. I would wait until they release the final release.

As Mr. Kodi states not a problem updating, however if you do have a build on your current version of Kodi (16) it will not keep the build when you upgrade, well not in full at least. All of the addons will still be there, but actual interface won't, and if it does, it will be very unpredictable. Best thing to do is start from scratch, then re add what ever build you are wanting to use, but make sure it is a Krypton (17) build. This will limit any sort of problems that "could" happen in the upgrade, and besides it doesn't really take that long to just reconfigure all your stuff... By the way, Kodi 17 install is essentially the same as with 16, and adding a build is relatively the same as well. Also, starting fresh can fix some of the problems that may have come up even on 16 as a lot of the common repos have changed, and need to be installed in a slightly different fashion (like exodus for example now has its own repo in the fusion repo).

As stated all over this site and on the web , I'd suggest you stay with Kodi 16.1 Jarvis for now .

Were not sure yet but thinking the Kodi developers are making it so Kodi will NOT except a

build . It will install and work for a couple days then crash .... Do not use Kodi 17 atm ....

Wait till further notice
